terms of service

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Thanks for using Mat. These terms are intentionally short and written to be read.

1. What Mat is. Mat is an iOS app that lets you create photo cutouts, arrange them on virtual mats, decorate them, share them with friends, and display them as widgets on your home screen. Mat is made by an independent developer (Rahul Bhadoriya, "we," "us").

2. Your content is yours. Everything you make in Mat — cutouts, mats, decorations, exports — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and, as described in our [Privacy Policy], we can't even see it. You're responsible for the photos you use: only use images you have the right to use, and don't use Mat to create content that's unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.

3. Shared (collective) mats. If you invite friends to a mat, everyone on that mat can view and edit its contents. Invite people you trust. Content on shared mats syncs through the participants' iCloud accounts via Apple's CloudKit; we have no access to it and can't moderate, recover, or remove it on your behalf. If someone shares content with you that you don't want, you can leave the mat or remove the content.

4. Mat Pro. Mat Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks premium features (unlimited mats, unlimited cutouts, all decorations, and future premium features). It is not a subscription — you pay once and keep it. Purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account and are subject to Apple's terms. Mat Pro supports Family Sharing. To restore your purchase on a new device, use "Restore Purchases" in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot issue refunds directly.

5. Free tier limits. The free version of Mat includes limits (such as a maximum number of mats and cutouts). We may adjust what's included in the free tier over time, but features you've purchased with Mat Pro stay yours.

6. iCloud & data. Your mats live on your device and in your personal iCloud account. Keeping iCloud enabled and backed up is your responsibility — if you delete the app's iCloud data or lose access to your Apple Account, we cannot recover your mats.

7. Acceptable use. Don't use Mat to break the law, infringe intellectual property, or harm others. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the app's purchase mechanisms.

8. As-is. Mat is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or issues arising from Apple's services (iCloud, App Store, StoreKit). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.

9. Changes. We may update Mat and these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above. Continuing to use Mat after changes means you accept them.
